Improve engine performance, reduce emissions, and prevent carbon build up with this Oil Catch Can!
The factory engine setup of an Aston Martin V8 Vantage uses a PCV Valve to relieve pressure in the engine's crankcase. The excess pressure can't be ventilated to the atmosphere because it contains oil vapors, so it gets piped into the intake manifold to be burned off by the engine. While this does contain the oil vapors, it also contaminates the intake air going into the engine.
This Oil Catch Can replaces the hose that connects the PCV Valve to the intake manifold and uses internal baffling to help separate the oil vapors from the vented air, leading to cleaner air entering your engine while also keeping the oil from ventilating to the atmostphere.
Installation
The Oil Catch Can installs easily using OEM hose connectors and existing bolt locations - there's nothing to cut, drill, or permenantly alter.
- A mounting bracket is attached to the vehicle chassis using existing factory bolts.
- One hose is removed from the engine and is replaced by the Oil Catch Can and its included hoses.
- Bolts to attach the Oil Catch Can to the mounting bracket are included.
Maintenace
The Oil Catch Can stores the oil it collects and must be drained. This is quick and easy to do at the same time as the vehicle's annual oil change.
The service interval for a V8 Vantage's oil change is 10,000 miles or 1 year, whichever comes first. The Oil Catch Can has enough storage capacity to be drained using this same service interval.
